Match Report |
Brentwood lost a very close fought and exciting game on Tuesday evening.
The first two batting pairs for Hutton got them off to a very fast start, taking them to 263 after eight overs. Brentwood managed to slow them down a bit with two wickets in the final few overs, but Hutton still managed a very good score which was always going to be hard to catch.
Some very good batting from Braden Doyle got Brentwood off to a strong start, hitting five boundaries in scoring 23 runs. Joshua Knightbridge and Dhuv Gupta kept the score moving on, with Joshua hitting three boundaries in his fourteen runs.
We were always slightly behind the run rate, but the next two pairs kept us in contention and two boundaries from Hritik in the penultimate over left us leaving 16 off the final over. Hutton managed to pick up a wicket in the third ball which took the target out of reach.
One of our aims was to try to hit more boundaries, and the 14 that we managed in this match was the highest that we have managed all season.
It was obviously disappointing to be on the losing side, but a lot of positives to take from a very good match.
