Great day today with fantastic team spirit.
Brentwood batting first scored 249 against an exceptionally good bowling side. Freddie Wise and Oscar Torrado top scoring with 16 apiece. A good innings also from Will Reed and Aston Leaver at the end of the innings.
In reply Shenfield were in trouble. Lucas Penman picking up 3 wickets and Sam Sandle 2 in their stint. After 8 overs, Shenfield had only progressed to 207. However, Shenfield dug deep and despite some great bowling only one more wicket was to come. This did not justify the good bowling and on numerous times the ball skimmed the wicket. Shenfield slowly ground the runs out that they needed and ended on 267. A close game, even closer than the final score suggests, and a good team performance saw all the lads enjoy the morning and hopefully benefit and learn from the experience.
