Springfield took advantage of a short boundary and knocked a very respectable score of 365. On several occasions the ball fell just short of fielders. Wickets proved hard to obtain until Alex Jessop struck with a deserved caught and bowled. James Dowsett and Harry Larner then picked up one wicket each. Behind the stumps Freddie Wise put in one of the best performances seen and also took a fine catch.
Brentwood got off to a good start with Henry Deacon hitting two sixes in his innings of 19. Alex Jessop and James Dowsett paired well together for a good knock each also.
