Great Baddow conceded the game as we arrived as they had to field quite a number of over age players to get a team out, I believe most of their team.
However we batted first and reached a good 274 on a wicket that was popping. All the boys chipped in with Will Reed top scoring on 17.
In the field the lads were incredible. Stopping everything and taking some unbelievable catches. PJ to note took his first catch of three at mid-off that was worthy of television!
They also produced several run outs by direct hits and putting pressure on the batmen in the field.
Brentwood took 12 wickets in the match.
This had Gt Baddow struggling on only 228 off 15 overs. After a good fight back by two batsmen that clearly play a good standard of cricket it came down to the final ball of the match. A thrilling contest that ended up with the batsmen just managing to get over the line and finishing on 280. I was immensely proud of the team performance.
Result - Brentwood win as Gt Baddow could not field a team within age group.
