Harold Wood U18's134 for 7, Brentwood U18 Buccaneers 136 for 4
Brentwood won by 6 wickets
Another fantastic hot evening, both side wearing pyjamas. Brentwood in the Buccaneers maroon and Harold Wood in green and yellow much like a South African outfit. Harold Wood won the toss and batted. Fast outfield and one short boundary and batsmen who looked like powerful hitters showed early signs of a high scoring encounter. Hilliard struck in the first over but, in his next over, a front foot no ball allowed Davis to loft a six off the free hit. Ellis and Phillips got 45 and 42, Phillips hitting 9 boundary fours. Some fielding mistakes from the Brentwood side allowed three boundaries and after 10 over's, Harold Wood were well placed at 71 for 2. But the next 10 over's saw the other side of Brentwood's ability in the field. All the bowlers performed with control, very few extras and three run outs kept Harold Wood down to 134.
In reply the buccaneers were as aggressive as usual. A high boundary count but also aggressive running meant the scoreboard rattled round quickly. Kris Ali ended unbeaten on 68 as the total was reached in 16 over's. This was the strongest performance yet against the best opponents.
