Match Report |
Bentley batted first and Teddy Mortlock got Brentwood off to a flying start with a wicket in the first ball of the innings. Unfortunately, this was the only wicket of the innings as Bentley went on to make 150 for 1 in their 20 overs. George Larner, playing up a year did very well behind the stumps and just 8 wides in the innings says that the Brentwood bowling was fairly accurate but they just couldn't make the breakthrough, with the Bentley batters putting on a hundred runs in the last 10 overs.
In reply, Brentwood made a very commendable 119 for 4. Andrew Walters and James Jensen both batted very well for 22 and 19 respectively but the pick of the batters was Toby Gifford with 33 not out. Brentwood's calling and running between the wickets was excellent but they had conceded too many runs to Bentley to really threaten the score.
Bentley won by 31 runs
