Match Report

Our captain for this evening was Braden Doyle. He won the toss and wanted to field, but as some people were stuck in traffic, Brentwood went into bat. Playing his very first game tonight, Daniel Todd went in first with Alex Jessop. Bentley kept the runs down with some great bowling, but Brentwood didn't lose any wickets until the 5th over. I can see a huge improvement in all the players. We don't lose as many wickets which in terrier cricket is important. The younger players in particular are hitting the ball further and managing some boundaries. Brentwood finished on 274 - a great partnership at the end with PJ and Alex Jessop making 23 between them. Our bowling was the difference between the teams tonight. Brentwood ended up taking 9 wickets - a fantastic display from PJ who took 4 wickets (3 in one over) and also wickets coming from Alex (2), Harry (1), Zach (1) and Daniel on his debut (1). Well done to everyone in the team. Thank you to Bentley for letting us borrow a player to field. Thanks to Mark for umpiring and the parents for refreshments.
