U15 Brentwood Chargers155 for 4 off 20 overs Bentley 147 for 6 off 20 overs Brentwood win by 8 runs
Brentwood turned up at Bentley with 10 men due to a late injury to George Bull But with a strong batting line up even the coach was confident that being put in by the opposition was a good thing Buttleman and Denny both went off like trains taking the score onto 37 after 3 overs Denney was first to go for 24. Gunn joined Buttleman at the crease where everyone watched Buttleman hit 4s with ease down to 3rd man and point Eventually he was caught out by the keeper trying to guide another one down to 3rd man for a splendid 87 Brentwood ended up on 155 for 4 The experienced coach was not as confident as the boys Just under 8 an over sounds a lot but with only 10 men on a small fast outfield Brentwood would need to bowl and field well Initially this was not the case with lots of fielding mistakes and over throws. Bently were ticking over nicely at about 6 an over with not that many wickets down Eventually a good catch, 2 quick wickets, both bowled and a fantastic run out after another over throw happened all by the same player Connor Harrington 2-0-13-2 As the light faded Bentley needed 11 off the last over. It was all very tense! Captain Denny bowled the last 6 balls. 3 runs were scored off the first 2 then 3 dots and finally a bowled off the last ball Bentley ended up on 147 for 6 A great match which both teams enjoyed played within the spirit of game
