Howzat! Batsman David Cantor finds himself in a tight spot at Brentwood Cricket Club's centenary celebrations on New Years's Day. David and Club colleagues Bob Triggs and Andy Johnson were clowning around before the Club's match between the over-30's and under-30's.

BRENTWOOD Cricket Club kicked-off their Centenary Year celebrations with a 12-a-side match at the Old County Ground on New Year's Day.

Despite a bitter wind and frozen fingers, an enjoyable and lighthearted game ensued between an under-30s team and an over-30s side.

With the under-30s batting first, a respectable 123 all out was reached before the limit of 20 overs, with Pether and T. Coote the main contributors.

The over-30s mindful of getting back to the bar early, quickly knocked off the runs with wickets and overs to spare. Smith and Cole were the top scorers and only Hobbs, with three for five, was able to delay the result.
