Saturday March 2nd 2013. Having won the Essex Indoor Cricket Championships at U11 age group the previous season, Brentwood Cricket Club Under 12s represented Essex at the Lord's Taverners East Anglia Junior Indoor Cricket Championships at the University of East Anglia's Sportspark Complex in Norwich. Brentwood beat indoor champions of Huntingdonshire (Eaton Socon CC), Suffolk (Easton CC) and Norfolk (Great Witchingham CC) to reach the final, where they overcame Cambridgeshire indoor champions - Granta CC - to be crowned U12 Lord's Taverners East Anglian Indoor Champions. Brentwood played some fantastic cricket throughout the tournament - made all the more pleasing by a couple of observations from the standing umpires who commented on how smart the boys looked, and how Brentwood were one of the few teams who made the effort to shake hands with their opponents and the umpires after the matches. A big thank you to Jan West for giving up her time to score on behalf of the U12s.
