1st team go top and reach league cup final in one successful weekend

Brentwood 1st XI went top of the Shepherd Neame Premier Division following a comprehensive 7-wicket win at South Woodford on Saturday. Chelmsford’s four-run defeat by Ilford meant Brentwood go top by one point with five games left in the season. We still have both Chelmsford and third-placed Wanstead to play at home in the remaining fixtures.
South Woodford were dismissed for 132 on Saturday with Harry Shirt top-scoring with 41 not out. The wickets were shared by six bowlers, Tom Moore (2-25), Jake Wickham (2-28), Peter Youngusband (2-23), Charlie Griffiths (2-21), Ian Belchamber (1-23), Paul Humphries (1-9). On Sunday, the 1st XI completed a good weekend with a 55-run win over Chingford in the Dukes League Cup semi-final. More detail to follow.

The 3rd XI moved into the top half of the table with a tense 3-wicket win over Upminster on the OCG back pitch. Dave Balroop starred with the ball, taking 6-23 as the visitors were bowled out for 135, Billy Hull 2-38 and Cameron Maxwell 2-14 the other wicket takers. Andy Maxwell (27) and Nigel Bacon (23) gave Brentwood a platform and it was Hull (25 not out) and George Wingrove (9 not out) that saw their team home.For the full scorecard on Play-Cricket go to the following link:

The 4th XI lost by seven wickets at Buckhurst after being bowled out for just 95.That was not enough despite some tight bowling by Dan Ranns (1-13), Jony Peacock (1-21) and Charlie Bacon (1-7). .For the full scorecard on Play-Cricket go to the following link:
