Brentwood CC are delighted to announce that the date and details have now been confirmed for the 2014 fixture against Lashings World XI.

Friday 11th July is the date for what will be the 4th meeting between the two sides. Lashings claim that the score after 3 games (2011, 2012 & 2013) stands at 1-1, Lashings having won in 2012 by 3 runs and Brentwood securing a 5 wicket victory in 2013. Brentwood however also claimed a 1 run Duckworth Lewis victory in the inaugural fixture in 2011, a victory that Lashings still dispute!

Lashings have some exciting new signings this year, including recently retired England tweaker Graeme Swann, ex-England and Yorkshire fast bowler Matthew Hoggard MBE, current Essex batsman Owais Shah, Warwickshire all-rounder Darren Maddy and Aussie paceman Dirk Nannes. Add those names to the glittering list of legends that have played for Lashings at the OCG in previous years, the likes of Gordon Greenidge, Courtney Walsh, Inzaman Ul-Haq, Saqlain Mushtaq, Wasim Jaffer, Mark Ealham, Devon Malcolm, Phil DeFreitas, and it is certain to be a great day for all concerned. One thing is for sure, Lashings will be keen to avenge last years defeat and rumour has it they are trying to secure the services of none other than Shoaib Akhtar and even the great Sachin Tendulkar! The squad will be announced nearer the time but please book your table early as there are limited tables available. Who knows, other recently retired greats such as Jacques Kallis might also be persuaded to pull on the famous black and gold of the Lashings All Stars!

Please contact either Paul Webb (Chairman) or Ash Gibb (Club Administrator) for further details and to secure your table at what has always been a popular event and is set this year to be bigger and better than ever before.
